Northwood is 0-4 against Swanton since February of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Northwood Rangers will head out on the road to face off against the Swanton Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. The pair have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Northwood and eight for Swanton.
Last Thursday, Northwood suffered a rough 43-19 loss at the hands of Toledo Christian. While losing is never fun, Northwood can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 581st, while Toledo Christian is ranked 205th).
Meanwhile, Swanton came up short against Archbold on Thursday and fell 44-33. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Swanton in their matchups with Archbold: they've now lost three in a row.
The losing side was boosted by Emma Crow, who scored nine points.
Northwood has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season. As for Swanton, they dropped their record down to 7-12 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Northwood came up short against Swanton in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, falling 40-29. Can Northwood avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
