Adding to the longest winning streak in Butte View this week, Sutter beat Gridley 59-3. The victory was the sixth in a row for the team.
Sutter took down the Bulldogs 59-3 last week, the largest margin of any game. Randy Post threw for 187 yards and 3 touchdowns and ran for 24 yards during the win.
Winters's dynamic duo of Jacob Lowrie and Ben Case proved tough for Oroville to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Lowrie threw for 271 yards and 3 touchdowns and Case had 106 yards receiving. Christian Corrales helped Winters' passing attack out by catching 5 balls for 91 yards.
Kalan Hastey made the biggest impact on defense this week as Wheatland lost to Red Bluff. The 5-foot-9 senior forced 1 fumble and racked up 1 sack.
5-foot-10 quarterback Post of Ryan Reynolds' team is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1,240. He has also thrown 13 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Jordan Samson. The Wheatland star has 28 catches for 464 yards.
Lowrie of the the Warriors is only 13 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. Lowrie has rushed for 987 yards on 100 carries so far this year.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Winters takes on Wheatland. Daniel Ward's team is in second place, while Neil Stinson's team is in third place.
The Huskies led the league in scoring this week by notching 59 points on Gridley. Post ran for 24 yards in the win.
