In what's become a running theme this season, the Roosevelt Roughriders gave their fans yet another huge victory on Monday. They claimed a resounding 59-25 victory over Anacostia at home. Winning may never get old, but Roosevelt sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Roosevelt was led to victory by Isaiah Mcvea and Richard Hall. Mcvea scored 12 points along with three steals, while Hall scored 13 points along with five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mcvea has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Brendan Grant, who scored eight points.
Roosevelt has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season. As for Anacostia, their loss was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-13.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Roosevelt will take on the Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in District of Columbia (Banneker is ranked 15th, while the Roughriders are ranked eighth). As for Anacostia, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Jackson-Reed knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 21 games -- so hopefully the Indians like a good challenge.
