The Crespi Celts have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 24 points or more this season. They blew past Oakwood 75-47 on the road. Given Crespi's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 16th, while Oakwood is ranked 465th), the result on Thursday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Crespi to victory, but perhaps none more so than Peyton White, who scored 21 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. Those six steals set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Joe Sterling, who scored 20 points along with eight rebounds.
The victory (which was Crespi's fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 78.8 points per game. As for Oakwood, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10.
Crespi will head out on the road to face off against Chatsworth at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Averaging 67.9 so far this season, Chatsworth's high-powered offense has been in full-swing lately, so Crespi better be ready for a challenge. Oakwood will be home for the holidays to greet Yeshiva University of Los Angeles (YULA) at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
