Marshall has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge The Verdugo Hills Dons at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Marshall put the finishing touches on their third blowout victory of the season on Friday. They really took it to Torres for the full four quarters, racking up a 50-0 victory at home. The win was just what Marshall needed coming off of a 42-6 defeat in their prior matchup.
Marshall can attribute much of their success to Scott Teves, who rushed for 106 yards and a touchdown on only five carries. Teves was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 51 yards. Joaquin Means also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Verdugo Hills owes their defense a big pat on the back after their performance two weeks ago. They strolled past Monroe with points to spare, taking the game 19-0.
Marshall's win bumped their record up to 5-5. As for Verdugo Hills, their win bumped their record up to an identical 5-5.
Everything came up roses for Marshall against Verdugo Hills in their previous matchup back in December of 2017 as the squad secured a 61-26 victory. Does Marshall have another victory up their sleeve, or will Verdugo Hills turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
