The Terra Nova Tigers will head out on the road to square off against the Mills Vikings at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
As a matter of fact, Terra Nova put up the most runs they have all season on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 23-1 margin over El Camino. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Colts recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.
Liah Trade was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (five). She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run and six RBI. That home run was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Bonnie Barrango was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, seven RBI, and four runs. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Caitlyn Lobo was another key player, going 3-for-4 with four runs, four RBI, and one double.
Terra Nova kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as El Camino only managed one hit.
Meanwhile, Mills never let their opponents score on Friday. Everything went their way against Mercy as they made off with an 11-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won eight matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.
Hailey Pedroza tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Lucy Esquivel was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Sydney Wong, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles.
Mills pushed their record up to 12-3-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Terra Nova, their record is now 4-9.
Wednesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Terra Nova hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .338. However, it's not like Mills struggles in that department as they've averaged .354. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Terra Nova might still be hurting after the 11-5 defeat they got from Mills in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
