Even though the Johnson City Eagles have not done well against the Goldthwaite Eagles recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Johnson City enjoyed a cozy 62-45 win over Goldthwaite. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Johnson City.
It was another big night for Aiden Fulton, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 18 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Johnson City's points. Another player making a difference was Collin Corpus, who scored six points along with five assists and four steals.
Johnson City pushed their record up to 11-7 with that win, which was their eighth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.9 points per game. As for Goldthwaite, their loss dropped their record down to 10-9.
Coincidentally, Johnson City and Goldthwaite will both be playing San Saba the next time they take the court. Goldthwaite will host San Saba at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Johnson City will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
