Dawson School had been on a four-game streak of scoring at least ten runs, but Dayspring Christian Academy put an end to it on Tuesday. The Mustangs lost 14-2 to the Eagles. The Mustangs' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
Milo Richtel was cooking despite his team's loss, firing off two home runs while going 2-for-2.
Meanwhile, Front Range Christian unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 6-3 to Bishop Machebeuf.
Haedan Morton was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off seven hits (and not a single walk). What's more, he gave up only zero walks, the fewest he's had since back in March. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Morton wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Landon Deza, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Dawson School's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Front Range Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 10-6.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Dawson School has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Front Range Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 9.7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Everything went Dawson School's way against Front Range Christian in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as Dawson School made off with a 9-1 win. Will the Mustangs repeat their success, or do the Falcons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
