Baseball Recap: Coram Deo Academy Rhetoric Victorious

While Coram Deo Academy Rhetoric's victory against Dallas Academy wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Coram Deo Academy Rhetoric sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 win over Dallas Academy on Thursday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Lions as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

John Davy made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That triple was his first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Luke Hulme, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Luke Beakley also deserves some recognition as he scored his first runs of the season.

The win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-4. As for Dallas Academy, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Coram Deo Academy Rhetoric will square off against rival Trinity Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Dallas Academy is set to take on their familiar foe Harvest Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
