Baseball Game Preview: Loyola Blakefield Dons vs. John Carroll Patriots

For the second straight game, Loyola Blakefield will face off against John Carroll. The Dons will take on the Patriots at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday.

Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Loyola Blakefield turned things around against John Carroll on Monday. They came out on top against the Patriots by a score of 13-10. Surprisingly, this marked the fifth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

For John Carroll's part, they got a good showing from Pierce Quinn, who struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits.

At the plate, Casey Carpenter stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and three RBI. Joey Coudon was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

This is the second loss in a row for John Carroll and nudges their season record down to 9-5-2. As for Loyola Blakefield, the victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 3-12.
