If the Davenport Broncos were riding high off their 59-33 takedown of the Poinciana Eagles last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Davenport suffered a rough 57-33 defeat at the hands of the Cobras on Friday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Davenport in their matchups with the Cobras: they've now lost four in a row.
Davenport lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Sorayah Emilien, who scored 15 points along with six steals. That was a full 45.5% of Davenport's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Destiny Kim, who scored ten points along with three blocks.
HARMON RANDOLPH was her usual excellent self, scoring 17 points along with seven rebounds and four steals for Central. RANDOLPH is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. LOVELY GABRIEL was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds.
Davenport's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-4. As for Central, their win bumped their record up to 16-8.
Davenport will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against the Kowboys at 8:00 p.m. on January 29th. As for Central, they and the Falcons will face off at 6:30 p.m. on January 29th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Jensen Beach focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 26 last Wednesday.
