The Springtown Porcupines will challenge the Decatur Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Springtown's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last three matchups.
On Friday, Springtown made easy work of Castleberry and carried off a 17-2 win. The Porcupines might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 15 games by six runs or more this season.
Sagelyn Jacobson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Springtown got a massive performance out of Addyson Fyffe, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave Fyffe a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Sydney Masterson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Springtown kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, after some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three matchups, Decatur finally came back down to earth on Friday. They came up short against Eagle Mountain, falling 7-1. The defeat continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Knights: they've now lost four in a row.
Alivia Creasser spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and five unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up eight Ks.
On the hitting side, Decatur saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Audrey Teichelman, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Springtown has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a massive bump to their 18-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.1 runs over those games. As for Decatur, they now have a losing record of 8-9.
Monday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Springtown has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .488. However, it's not like Decatur struggles in that department as they've averaged .533. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Springtown was able to grind out a solid win over Decatur in their previous meeting back in March, winning 10-6. Will the Porcupines repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
