After a string of five wins, The Ponca City Wildcats''s good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They were outmatched by Choctaw at home and fell 48-13. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Ponca City in their matchups with Choctaw: they've now lost four in a row.
Choctaw got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Cash Williams out in front who threw for 320 yards and five touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Williams is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Deshawn Smith, who picked up 158 receiving yards and four touchdowns.
Ponca City's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Choctaw, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-1.
Ponca City will look to defend their home field on November 10th against Putnam City West at 7:00 p.m. Putnam City West is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. Choctaw does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
