It was a good run, but the Jefferson Panthers unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 78-58 walloping at the hands of Manhattan Christian. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Jefferson's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hunter Stevens, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kael Hesford, who scored 13 points.
Jefferson's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-6. As for Manhattan Christian, they pushed their record up to 18-1 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road.
