On Wednesday, Skyline came up short against Bishop Gorman and fell 53-45. While losing is never fun, Skyline can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 123rd in Texas, while Bishop Gorman is ranked second in Nevada).
Bishop Gorman got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Aaliah Spaight out in front who scored nine points along with ten rebounds and eight assists. That's the first time this season that Spaight posted eight or more assists. Another player making a difference was Kenzee Holton, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Skyline and nudges their season record down to 10-10. As for Bishop Gorman, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-1.
Skyline won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Liberty at 9:00 a.m. on December 28th. Hopefully Liberty focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine last Thursday.
