The Wesson Cobras's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 97-41 loss at the hands of Jefferson County. Wesson has not had much luck with Jefferson County recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Austin Johnson was Wesson's leading scorer, having posted eight points. Johnson also led the team in rebounds with five.
Zevante Stapleton took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.
Wesson has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season. As for Jefferson County, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wesson will square off against South Pike at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. South Pike has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 1-2 during that stretch of close contests. Jefferson County will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Port Gibson at 7:30 p.m. on January 5th. Port Gibson is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games.
