5A District 2 recap October 1, 2013
Sandia took down Rio Grande 44-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
The Matadors led 5A District 2 in scoring this week after putting up 44 points on the Ravens.
6-foot-6 quarterback Zach Gentry of Eldorado is the league leader in passing yards this season with 645. He has also thrown 3 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Jordan Jones. The Sandia star has 7 catches for 164 yards.
La Cueva made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 4,532 from 5,030. The improvement was largely due to a 20-0 victory over the Bears last week.
