After two games on the road, Bertie is heading back home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Hunt Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Winning is just a little bit easier when you work as a team to rack up 15 more assists than your opponent, a fact Bertie proved on Friday. They walked away with a 63-53 win over J.H. Rose. Given Bertie's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 42nd, while J.H. Rose is ranked 385th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Tequan Holley, who scored 23 points along with 8 rebounds and 4 blocks. Jah'Kelvin Rascoe was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with 6 assists and 5 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Hunt was able to grind out a solid win over Martin County on Saturday, taking the game 61-53. The win made it back-to-back wins for Hunt.
Their wins bumped Bertie to 4-0 and J.H. Rose to 2-4.
