Baseball Recap: Sasakwa Snags Third Victory in Last Four Games

Sasakwa barely beat Wetumka the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Vikings' pitchers stepped up to hand the Chieftains a 12-0 shutout on Saturday. Considering the Vikings have won eight contests by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Sasakwa is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-11 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for Wetumka, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-12.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sasakwa will welcome Konawa at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Wetumka, they will take on Stroud at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Tigers will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something the Chieftains surely won't give up without a fight.
