The Terrell County Greenwave struggled with threes on Friday (the Lee County Trojans had seven more) and sadly the final score reflected it. The New Year welcomed Terrell County with a 74-39 whooping from Lee County. Terrell County has not had much luck with Lee County recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Several Greenwave players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Zayveon Lee, who scored 12 points. Another player making a difference was Michael Carter, who scored nine points.
It was another big night for Josiah Parker, who scored 16 points along with nine rebounds and six assists for Lee County. Parker is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Braylon Chaney, who scored 12 points.
Terrell County has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season. As for Lee County, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-2.
Terrell County won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Monroe at 7:30 p.m. on January 6th. Monroe knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past ten matchups -- so hopefully Terrell County likes a good challenge. As for Lee County, they will head out on the road to face off against Tift County at 7:30 p.m. on January 13th.
