After a string of three wins, the Northeast Academy Eagles's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They were outmatched by Ridgecroft at home and fell 79-31. Northeast Academy has not had much luck with Ridgecroft recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Northeast Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Judson Smith, who scored 13 points along with nine rebounds. Jake Parks was another key contributor, scoring six points.
It was another big night for Antron Gray, who made all 6 shots he took from beyond the arc racking up 24 points and 0 assists for Ridgecroft. The team also got some help courtesy of Baylor Edwards, who scored 16 points.
Northeast Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Ridgecroft, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northeast Academy will face off against Lawrence Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Ridgecroft, Ridgecroft and Pungo Christian Academy will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 25th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Pungo Christian Academy will be looking to keep their 13-game home win streak alive.
