The Talawanda Brave suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Monday. They took a serious blow against Edgewood, falling 68-30. Talawanda was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Edgewood apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Edgewood had a senior duo take command as Rylie Homan scored 23 points along with seven assists and three steals and Maddy Judd scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Homan has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played. Drew Swartzel was another key contributor, scoring four points along with eight rebounds and five steals.
Talawanda has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season. As for Edgewood, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Talawanda will take on Northwest at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Northwest has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Edgewood, they will be playing at home against Seton at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
