The Braden River Pirates won against the Carrollwood Day Patriots last Tuesday with 79 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Thursday. Braden River breezed by Carrollwood Day at home to the tune of 79-46. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Braden River has managed all season.
Isaac Heaven was his usual excellent self, scoring 24 points along with six assists and six steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Marcus Schade, who scored 18 points along with three steals.
Carrollwood Day's loss came despite strong showings from Travis Triplett and Ayaan Bhadouria. Triplett dropped a double-double on 17 points and 21 rebounds, while Bhadouria scored ten points. That was a full 37% of Carrollwood Day's points, marking the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Carrollwood Day struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Braden River racked up 14 assists.
Braden River has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. As for Carrollwood Day, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-11.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Braden River won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Parrish Community at 7:30 p.m. on January 19th. As for Carrollwood Day, they will head out on the road to square off against Ruskin Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
