The Dighton Hornets put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 44-32 victory over Quinter. That's another feather in the cap for Dighton, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Leading Dighton to victory were Daniel Cramer and Carson Shimer. Cramer scored 14 points along with three steals, while Shimer scored 20 points along with nine rebounds and five steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Shimer has scored at least a third of Dighton's points.
When it comes to explaining why Quinter lost, one person who can't be blamed is Shea Salyers. Despite the final result, he scored ten points along with seven rebounds. Luke Packard was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Dighton pushed their record up to 11-0 with that win, which was their 11th straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.0 points per game. As for Quinter, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-2.
Dighton's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Otis-Bison at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Otis-Bison is coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak. Quinter on the road again on Tuesday and play against Golden Plains at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd. Golden Plains will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Kansas Rankings (they are ranked 333rd, while Quinter is ranked 63rd).
