The Colonial Beach Drifters lost against the Northumberland Indians back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Colonial Beach took a hard 60-41 fall against Northumberland. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Colonial Beach in their matchups with Northumberland: they've now lost four in a row.
Northumberland's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tyreek Lundy, who almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine assists. The team also got some help courtesy of MJ Laws, who scored 19 points.
Colonial Beach's loss dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Northumberland, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Colonial Beach won't have much time to rest: their next game is against West Point at 7:00 p.m. on February 7th. West Point is coming into the contest with eight straight losses on the road, meaning Colonial Beach will have to defend against a squad hungry for a victory. As for Northumberland, they will be playing at home against Rappahannock at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Rappahannock comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
