The Christel House Eagles won the last time they faced the Indianapolis Shortridge Blue Devils, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Christel House breezed by Indianapolis Shortridge at home to the tune of 75-24. Given Christel House's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 150th, while Indianapolis Shortridge is ranked 331st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Jaden Davis, who scored 27 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Josiah Jackson was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with two steals.
Indianapolis Shortridge's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jalen Yates, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Nicholas Jordan, who scored four points.
Christel House's victory bumped their record up to 11-8. As for Indianapolis Shortridge, their defeat was their eighth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-18.
Christel House will take on Riverside at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Indianapolis Shortridge, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Purdue Polytechnic at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Purdue Polytechnic knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully Indianapolis Shortridge likes a good challenge.
