Excelsior Classical Academy took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Monday. They breezed past The Hawbridge School Herons to the tune of 51-9. The victory continues a trend for the Flying Lions in their matchups with the Herons: they've now won three in a row.
Leading Excelsior Classical Academy to victory were Justice Mims and Arihanna Williams. Mims posted 21 points and five steals, while Williams scored 19 points and eight steals. That's the most steals Williams has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Libby Gross, who earned two points and five rebounds.
The Hawbridge School's loss dropped their record down to 0-4.
Looking ahead, Excelsior Classical Academy will hit the road for the first time this season to square off against Triangle Math & Science at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Hawbridge School will be paying especially close attention to the Flying Lions' matchup: after the Flying Lions face off against Emerson Waldorf, they'll take on The Hawbridge School again at 5:30 p.m. on December 1.
