The McDermitt Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. The matchup between McDermitt and Lund wasn't particularly close, with McDermitt falling 58-43. McDermitt was down 53-31 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
McDermitt's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Shandon Camas, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. Camas is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Eli Northrup, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
It was another big night for Kasen Hardy, who scored 28 points along with nine rebounds and two steals for Lund. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hardy has scored all season. Parker Rosenlund was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 14 rebounds.
McDermitt has been struggling recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-13 record this season. As for Lund, their win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. McDermitt and Jackpot will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nevada (Jackpot is ranked 99th, while McDermitt is ranked 103rd). As for Lund, they will head out on the road to square off against Owyhee at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
