The Conwell-Egan Catholic Eagles will venture away from home to take on the Devon Prep Tide at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
The home team had won the previous four meetings between Conwell-Egan Catholic and Archbishop Carroll, and Archbishop Carroll kept the tradition alive. The Eagles fell just short of the Patriots by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday.
Chase Forester was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.
