The Lewis Cass Kings will head out to square off against the Delphi Community Oracles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
Lewis Cass came out on top against Southwood on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run second inning. The Kings' pitcher stepped up to hand the Knights a 10-0 shutout. The Kings not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 8th (when they won 14-1).
The team relied heavily on Tyler Foley, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Julian Davidson was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Lewis Cass always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. The last time their OBP was this high was was before the start of last season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Delphi Community, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Tri-Central on Thursday as they made off with an 11-5 victory. The Oracles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 games by six runs or more this season.
Brett Huffman was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, three stolen bases, and three runs. Another player making a difference was Keygan Elliott, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
Delphi Community is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Lewis Cass, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.
Lewis Cass couldn't quite get it done against Delphi Community in their previous matchup back in May of 2025 as they fell 19-15. Can the Kings avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
