The Camelback Spartans will take on the Apollo Hawks at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
Camelback proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by three) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over South Mountain. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Spartans have posted since March 7th.
Camelback took South Mountain into a fifth set where they got it done with a three-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-20, 23-25, 25-27, 15-12.

Elisha Barron was nothing short of spectacular: he had 22 digs and three aces. He has been hot for a while, having posted 11 or more digs the last nine times he's played.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Apollo, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They won by a set and slipped past Independence 3-2.
Apollo wouldn't go down easily and took Independence into a fifth set where they got it done with a four-point win. The match finished with set scores of 19-25, 25-21, 25-17, 19-25, 15-11.
Camelback's victory bumped their record up to 5-13. As for Apollo, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-10.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Monday's match: Camelback has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 6.7 aces per game. However, it's not like Apollo struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 5.3 aces.
