The Grace Christian Crusaders will stay at home for another game and welcome the Legacy Early College Lions at 5:30 p.m. on February 9th. One thing working in Grace Christian's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 18 matches.
In what's become a running theme this season, Grace Christian gave their fans yet another huge victory on Monday. They blew past Northwood 76-37 at home. Given Grace Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked first, while Northwood is ranked 80th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Sarah Strong was her usual excellent self, dropping a triple-double on 26 points, 26 rebounds, and ten assists. She hasn't dropped below nine rebounds for 13 straight games. Another player making a difference was Isabella "Isa" Roman, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine assists.
Meanwhile, Legacy Early College waltzed into their match on Tuesday with six straight wins but they left with seven. They breezed by Gray Collegiate Academy on the road to the tune of 56-18. Legacy Early College's win was all the more impressive since Gray Collegiate Academy was averaging only 28.74 points allowed on the season.
Grace Christian pushed their record up to 26-0 with that win, which was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 38.2 points. As for Legacy Early College, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season.
Grace Christian strolled past Legacy Early College when the teams last played back in January by a score of 63-48. Will Grace Christian repeat their success, or does Legacy Early College have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
