After a string of three wins, Riverside's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell just short of the South Effingham Mustangs by a score of 2-1.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Riverside sadly dropped the once that decided the match. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 13-25, 15-12.

Despite the defeat, Riverside had strong showings from Megan James Wingerter, who had 11 digs, and McKenley Noble, who had four digs and three aces.

Riverside's loss dropped their record down to 15-6. As for South Effingham, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 22 of their last 23 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 31-9 record this season.

Riverside has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 win against Wade Hampton on the 30th. As for South Effingham, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Cartersville on the 27th.
