 Halstead got a great performance from  Kaden Eskins as he  didn't allow a single  earned run and  only two  hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Eskins has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't  pitched less than five  innings in three consecutive pitching appearances.
 At the plate,  the team  relied heavily on  Jase Mueller, who  scored two  runs and  stole three bases while  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of  Leighton Siebert, who  scored a  run while going 2-for-3.
 Meanwhile, Smoky Valley fell victim to a  rough 13-2 defeat at the hands of Lyons  on Friday. Smoky Valley has now  taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
 Halstead's win bumped their record up to 2-6. As for Smoky Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.
 Halstead came up short against Smoky Valley when the teams last played  back in April of 2023, falling  4-1. Can Halstead avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
