Even though the Pike Road Patriots scored an imposing 59 points on Thursday, the Park Crossing Thunderbirds still came out on top. Park Crossing secured a 63-59 W over Pike Road. Given Park Crossing's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 100th, while Pike Road is ranked 216th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Park Crossing to victory were Jayden Scott and Caden Anderson-teal. Scott scored 21 points along with five rebounds and two steals, while Anderson-teal dropped a double-double on 22 points and 20 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Anderson-teal has scored all season. Joey Johnson Jr was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Park Crossing now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Pike Road, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-11.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Russell County the next time they take the court. Park Crossing will host Russell County at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, while Pike Road will head out to face them at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
