Roscoe had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Everything went their way against the Sonora Broncos on Monday as the Roscoe Plowboys made off with a 63-38 victory. The Plowboys have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 16 matches by 20 points or more this season.
Despite the loss, Sonora saw an underclassman step up: freshman Brook Kaiser posted eight points and 16 rebounds.
The win (which was Roscoe's eighth in a row) raised their record to 24-9. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.9 points over those games. As for Sonora, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 19-9.
Looking ahead, Roscoe will take on Smyer at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Smyer knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Roscoe likes a good challenge. Sonora does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
