Viewmont is 9-1 against the Wildcats since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Viewmont Vikings will head out on the road to square off against the Woods Cross Wildcats at 5:15 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Utah (Viewmont is ranked 49th, while the Wildcats are ranked 57th).
While Viewmont couldn't quite beat the Bees on Friday, the two-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the 21-point loss they were dealt on Wednesday. Viewmont fell just short of the Bees by a score of 47-45. Viewmont has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Viewmont's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Aubrey Mulitalo, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds and two steals, and Mary Carr who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. Kristina Gunnell was another key contributor, scoring six points along with seven steals.
Meanwhile, Woods Cross came up short against the Falcons on Friday and fell 38-31.
Viewmont has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-8 record this season. As for Woods Cross, they now have a losing record at 9-10.
Viewmont beat the Wildcats 56-45 in their previous matchup back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Viewmont since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
