If the Benjamin Franklin Bayhawks were riding high off their 72-50 takedown of Chesapeake Science Point last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Benjamin Franklin fell just short of Carver Vo-Tech by a score of 77-75. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Thursday (72), Benjamin Franklin still had to take the loss.
It was another big night for Dorrian Sands, who scored 26 points along with nine rebounds and three steals for Carver Vo-Tech. That makes it three consecutive games in which Sands has scored at least a third of Carver Vo-Tech's points. Kalial Colclough was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five assists and five steals.
Benjamin Franklin's defeat dropped their record down to 10-2. As for Carver Vo-Tech, their victory was their 15th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-3.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Coppin Academy the next time they take the court. Carver Vo-Tech will host Coppin Academy at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday, while Benjamin Franklin will head out to face them on Thursday.
