After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Sumner, the Brandon Eagles were happy to have found some success on Friday. They walked away with a 51-41 victory over Blake. This was payback for Brandon, who suffered a 50-34 loss the last time these two teams met.
Leading Brandon to victory were Julia Castany and Sofia Caserta. Castany scored 15 points, while Caserta scored 16 points. Castany has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of jazleni mathews, who scored eight points.
Brandon's win bumped their record up to 4-11. As for Blake, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Brandon will take on Robinson at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Robinson presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Brandon in Florida (Robinson is ranked 219th, while Brandon is ranked 569th). As for Blake, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Armwood at 6:00 p.m. Armwood is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
