The Louisburg Warriors entered their tilt with the Northwood Chargers with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Louisburg sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 46-43 win over Northwood on Friday. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Louisburg had a senior duo take command as Donte' Strickland jr rushed for 142 yards and a touchdown on only 15 carries and Isaiah Eddie gained 138 total yards and three touchdowns. Strickland jr is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played.
Despite the loss, Northwood still got an impressive performance from Carson Fortunes, who threw for 315 yards and four touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. The team also got some help courtesy of Robert Tripp, who gained 157 total yards.
Louisburg has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-5 record this season. As for Northwood, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-4.
Louisburg will head out on the road to face off against Princeton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Princeton will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive. Northwood does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
