After flying high against the Bartlett Yancey Buccaneers last Friday, the North Moore Mustangs came back down to earth. North Moore was the victim of a tough 83-61 defeat at the hands of Seaforth on Tuesday. North Moore has not had much luck with Seaforth recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
North Moore's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Colby Pennington, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. Pennington has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last six times he's played. Austin Patterson was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with eight rebounds and five assists.
Noah Lewis continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Seaforth, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 11 assists. Another player making a difference was Campbell Meador, who scored 12 points along with six assists and two steals.
North Moore has not been sharp recently as the team's lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season. As for Seaforth, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-13.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Moore will face off against Graham at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Seaforth, they will head out on the road to challenge Southeast Alamance at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Seaforth focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Tuesday.
