The Mt. Zion Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight defeat. They took a 50-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of McDonough. Mt. Zion has not had much luck with McDonough recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Despite the defeat, Mt. Zion saw an underclassman step up: Makayla Juhan scored 17 points. That was a full 43.6% of Mt. Zion's points, marking the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Tayjianna Smith, who scored eight points.
Jadah Rembert was the offensive standout of the matchup as she scored 19 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Zora Hill was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with six rebounds.
Mt. Zion has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season. As for McDonough, their win bumped their record up to 11-14.
Mt. Zion does not have any more games scheduled as of now. McDonough also has no future games currently scheduled.
