The Bell Gardens Lancers can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They walked away with a 61-51 win over El Rancho. The win was just what Bell Gardens needed coming off of a 77-49 defeat in their prior matchup.
El Rancho lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Andrew Morones, who scored 14 points. Those 14 points set a new season-high mark for him. Troy Barajas was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with three steals.
Bell Gardens' win bumped their record up to 2-8. As for El Rancho, their defeat was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 2-9.
Bell Gardens will be home for the holidays to greet Whittier at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for El Rancho, they will head out on the road to face off against Nogales at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
