The Rockford East E-Rabs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fifth straight loss. They took a 70-53 bruising from Metea Valley. While losing is never fun, Rockford East can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 462nd, while Metea Valley is ranked 106th).
Several E-Rabs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tarion Mcfadden-leach, who scored 15 points. Juel Campos-Watkins was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with two steals.
Rockford East has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost 14 of their last 16 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-18 record this season. As for Metea Valley, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season.
Rockford East's road trip will continue as they head out to face Belvidere at 7:15 p.m. on January 19th. As for Metea Valley, they will take on Wheaton-Warrenville South at 4:15 p.m. on Monday.
