Kendrick extended their losing streak to three on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 16-5 in the process. They came up short against the Clearwater Valley Rams, falling 11-3. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Rams this season, with their most recent loss being a 8-1 defeat on Monday.

Morgan Boyer was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in seven consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Boyer wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jerry Anderson, who went 2-for-3 with one run. Kolt Koepp also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
As for Clearwater Valley, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a massive bump to their 15-10 record this season. Considering they have won 14 contests by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Like Kendrick, Clearwater Valley also got a great game from a two-way player: Barak Meyer. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Those eight strikeouts gave Meyer a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Clearwater Valley's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 12-1 (and 3-9 when he doesn't).
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Carson Schilling, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and two RBI. He has become a key player for Clearwater Valley: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 5-10 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Jake Fabbi, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
As of now, neither Kendrick nor Clearwater Valley have any future games scheduled.
