Whitmer has gone a perfect 3-0 against Springfield recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Panthers will challenge the Blue Devils at 10:00 a.m. Whitmer will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
Whitmer lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Napoleon, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's contest. The Panthers' pitchers stepped up to hand the Wildcats a 7-0 shutout on Friday.

Logan Spain looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Rudy Handy and Drew Brindley did most of the damage at the plate: Handy went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double, while Brindley got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. Those two stolen bases gave Brindley a new career-high. Domo Arent was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one double.
Meanwhile, Springfield fell victim to Anthony Wayne and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They came up short against the Generals, falling 8-0. Having soared to a lofty 20 runs in the game before, the Blue Devils' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
Springfield has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Whitmer, their victory bumped their record up to 10-6.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. Whitmer has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Springfield struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Whitmer got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 against Springfield by a conclusive 11-3 score. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Blue Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
