Softball Recap: Whitmer's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Whitmer had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against the Northview Wildcats by a score of 9-6 on Wednesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Panthers also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

Olivia Munoz was incredible, going 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ryleigh Hannibal, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.

Munoz wasn't the only one making solid contact: Whitmer kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. The Panthers are 2-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Whitmer's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 3-7. As for Northview, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3-1.

Coming up, Whitmer will venture away from home to challenge Boardman at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Northview, they will welcome Bowling Green at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
