They strolled past Franklin Central with points to spare, taking the game 59-41. Given Franklin Community's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 18th, while Franklin Central is ranked 99th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Franklin Community was led to victory by Brooklyn York and Scarlett Kimbrell. York scored 17 points along with three steals, while Kimbrell went 6 for 8 from beyond the arc en route to 20 points and 2 assists. York continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Lauren Klem was another key contributor, scoring three points along with nine assists and five rebounds.
Franklin Central lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Riley Huotari, who scored seven points. Another player making a difference was Lily Graves, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Franklin Central struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Franklin Community pushed their record up to 11-2 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.7 points per game. As for Franklin Central, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-5.
