The Ridgeland Titans were the 49-41 winner over the Holmes County Central Jaguars when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Ridgeland was just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 45-44 to Holmes County Central.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Holmes County Central to victory, but perhaps none more so than DeKyra Mitchell, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds. The game was Mitchell's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Rh'Tasia Greer, who scored 12 points along with 7 rebounds.
Ridgeland's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Holmes County Central, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-2.
Ridgeland will head out on the road to face off against Lanier at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Holmes County Central, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Greenwood at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Greenwood has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 9.
