The Gila Ridge Hawks posted their biggest victory yet this season on Saturday. They blew past Apache Junction 58-36.
Among those leading the charge was Emilio Sabori, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Izaya Hernandez was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with eight rebounds.
Despite the loss, Apache Junction still got an impressive performance from Omar Adam, who scored 18 points along with two steals. That was a full 50% of Apache Junction's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Gila Ridge's win bumped their record up to 4-13. As for Apache Junction, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-10.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gila Ridge on the road again on Monday and play against Yuma at 7:00 p.m. on January 8th. The timing is sure in Yuma's favor as the team sits on five straight wins at home while Gila Ridge has been banged up by eight consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season. As for Apache Junction, they will take on Coronado at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
